The mercury will rebound a little this weekend.

Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

As an area of high pressure slides to our south today, it will be breezy with a mix of clouds and sunshine. It won't be quite as cold with the mercury slipping into the 50s in many spots, but it will still feel cool with a bit of a breeze. A cold front will pass through the area on tomorrow but will have very limited moisture. This will leave us with a mix of clouds and sunshine tomorrow with just the chance for a passing shower in a few locations. Behind that front, Monday will only be slightly cooler with sunshine giving way to some clouds. These clouds will be associated with a cold front that will bring rain showers then snow showers Monday night into Tuesday morning. The coldest air of the season so far will build in behind this front. As temperatures fall, the rain and snow showers that have been melting on the roads may freeze to cause icy spots Tuesday morning. This is something that we will have to watch. Temperatures Tuesday will probably not rise higher than the 30s with snow showers. There can be some leftover snow showers or flurries Tuesday night into Wednesday but a bubble of high pressure will start to build over the region and start to give us some sunshine Wednesday. This high pressure system should keep unsettled weather to our south and east later Wednesday into Thursday and then usher in milder air for the next weekend.
