Morning Forecast, Saturday December 7, 2013

We'll have a break from the winter weather, but temperatures will be below freezing for many people today.
Updated: Saturday morning, December 7th
Reported by: Meteorologist Steve Newton

A few snow showers and flurries will be left over this morning; and it will be breezy with a mix of clouds and sunshine in the afternoon with temperatures in the low to mid 30s. This break from the winter weather will last until Sunday afternoon when the next round of snow showers will arrive from the south and last into Monday. As the next system moves through, it will turn over to a wintry mix with some ice or freezing rain Sunday evening, creating a potential problem for the Monday morning commute. The system won’t last throughout all of Monday and temperatures will get into the mid and upper 30s. Behind that system another round of cold air will move into the region, with high temperatures for the middle of next week in the mid to upper 20s.
