Man Pleads in Death of Daughter in Law

After a woman was missing for 13 years, her killer pleaded guilty.
WARRIORS MARK, HUNTINGDON COUNTY - Sherry Jean Leighty went missing 13 years ago. Her family never stopped looking for answers. Her missing person case was reopened this year.

After an extensive search of the family’s hunting camp in Warriors Mark, Leighty’s remains were found. Her father-in-law, Kenneth Leighty, was charged with her murder. Thursday, Ken Leighty pleaded guilty to third degree murder. He will be sentenced in February.

As part of his plea agreement, he will spend 7-14 years in prison.
