Locke's MLB Debut Spoiled, Bucs Blanked 3-0

Florida's Sanchez tosses 1 hit, complete game, shut-out.<br mce_bogus="1">
(Pittsburgh) - Jeff Locke not only got his first taste of Major League competition on Saturday night, but also an eye-opening glimpse of what dominance looks like at this level.

Locke's outing was good, not great, though that latter adjective would be a fitting one to attach to Anibal Sanchez's performance for the Marlins. Sanchez promptly stole the spotlight in front of 34,063 fans at PNC Park with a one-hit, complete-game gem to lead Florida to a 3-0 win over Pittsburgh.

The loss was the Pirates' 11th in their last 12 tries against the Marlins.
