Local folks will be able to speak out Tuesday on Governor Corbett's Healthy Pennsylvania Plan. The Pennsylvania Department of Welfare will hold a public hearing in Altoona on the administration's request for a waiver from the federal government
Instead of expanding Medicaid, the governor wants to use federal money to help residents buy private health coverage.
People speaking at the hearing had to register to testify by January 2.
A union representing healthcare workers will be gathering outside the hearing room at the Blair County Convention Center, before the event , to express their concern with the governor's proposal.
