Leah Kirstein has been the DuBois Bureau reporter with WTAJ since July 2011. She is thrilled to be reporting near her hometown of Pittsburgh.

Leah graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2007. She went onto study Speech Communications/ Broadcasting at Millersville University. During her time at Millersville she enjoyed anchoring and reporting for News 99 and completing two summer internships. Leah interned with WTAE Channel 4 Action News in Pittsburgh and WGAL News 8 in Lancaster, PA. Upon graduating, she began her career as a general assignment reporter at WHIZ in Zanesville, Ohio. Leah then became a general assignment reporter with Blue Ridge Cable 11 News.

Now, Leah looks forward to expanding her career and reporting in Elk, Jefferson and Clearfield County with WTAJ News.

What is your favorite restaurant?  
I am a big fan of trying new places, but Mexican would have to be my favorite food and my all -time favorite restaurant is The Belevedeere Inn in Lancaster, PA.

If you could interview anyone in history, who would it be?  
If I could interview anyone in history celebrity wise it would be Marilyn Monroe. She overcame struggle to become one of the best known celebrities of all time.

If I could interview anyone, it would be Martha Washington.

What is one thing on your bucket list?  
My bucket list is extensive and follows my age. Right now I am on things to do before I am 30 and next summer I want to travel to Italy with my sisters and mother to visit our cousins.

What is one thing about you most people would be surprised by?
I am slightly addicted to gumballs and eat about 3 a day.

What are your favorite sports teams?  

What is your favorite hobby?  
TJ Maxx - I like to believe bargain hunting is a hobby.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?  
In 20 years, I will be married (April 28, 2012), with three children and I will still be reporting, possibly back in Pittsburgh. My lifetime goal is to report at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (Dream Big).

What was your most memorable interview/weather event/sporting event?  
My most memorable interviews are those with residents who impact their communities. I recently did an interview with the men who started KNO Clothing, a company that sells clothing and for each sale they give an article of clothing to someone homeless plus, they donate to a charity helping to end homelessness.

My most memorable weather event as a reporter happened while I was an intern with WTAE in Pittsburgh. Storms hit the area and flooding destroyed neighborhoods, it is times like those, when you see a community come together to help each other that really stick with you.

Stanley Cup Champions - while I was intern at WTAE I was able to interview Sidney Crosby after their 2009 Stanley Cup Championship.

What was your first job?  
I was a sales associate at TJ Maxx.
