ALEXANDRIA, HUNTINGDON COUNTY - Juniata Valley's Homecoming game came to a happy ending, thanks to some last-minute heroics.
Quarterback Caleb Taylor hit running back Jesse Claar for a short touchdown pass with less than :30 to go, giving the Hornets a 34-26 win over Williamsburg (3-3).
JV led 14-6 at the half, but were in a 26-26 tie when Claar scored the game-winner and added the two-point conversion.
Claar carried the ball 28 times for 147 yards and three TDs. Taylor was 8 of 13 for 113 yards, tossed two touchdown passes and added a 45-yard score on the ground.
The Hornets (4-2) travel to Tussey Mountain (5-1) on Friday, Oct. 11 for a 7 p.m. kick.
