iPhone 5S Sales Outpacing iPhone 5C

The lower-cost phone made up around 1/4 of Apple's cell phone sales in September.
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - A new survey reveals the Apple iPhone 5S is outselling its cheaper counterpart by more than double.

Consumer Intelligence Research Partners released data showing the 5S accounted for about 64% of Apple’s cell phone sales at the end of September. The 5C only accounts for 27% of sales.

The company's older iPhone 4S model is still selling, with the two-year-old smartphone comprising 9% of sales.

Apple’s next press event is scheduled for October 22nd in San Francisco. Rumors of a new iPad have increased since the announcement of the coming event.
