Hunters Sharing The Harvest

Local processor helping cause.
HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY - As more than 700,000 hunters look to land the big one this week, one group is hoping some choose to donate their harvest to a good cause.

The Hunters Sharing The Harvest Program has been a statewide initiative since 1991. Jason McCready at McCready's Processing in Hollidaysburg has been working with the program for two years. Hunters can choose to have their meat donated to a local food pantry. McCready says last year he collected about 500 pounds of meat for the Altoona Food Pantry.

McCready has already had a couple deer donated this season too.
