When students go off to their first year of college, they often experience being home sick. Until they can adjust, this time can be very difficult on both the student and their parents.
On today's show, Guidance Counselor Barron Whited offers some advice on how to deal with this problem and how to get past it. Barron is a counselor with teh Agora Cyber Charter School.
Barron says the college experience offers new interests, new friends and a new space and often times, a new city. So, the transition can be overwhelming for some students as well as for their families. Approximately 75% of students will encounter stress at some point during their college career.
