Geisinger to Study Heart Failure

Health System part of $2 million study.
Geisinger Health System is getting a federal grant to tackle one of the country's deadliest conditions--heart disease.

Geisinger will share $2 million from the National Institutes of Health with IBM and Sutter Health. They'll work on practical and cost-effective  methods  to detect heart failure in the early stages.

The partners will look for ways  primary care doctors can use electronic health records to  spot the first signs of heart failure.
