Updated Friday Morning, December 6th
Reported by Meteorologist Regina Miller

Today we will have some rain which will transition over to a wintry mix from afternoon into evening.  Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for Somerset, Cambria, Clearfield, Jefferson, Elk, Cameron, and Northern Clearfield and Centre Counties going into effect at 1 p.m. Friday and is set to expire at 5 a.m. Saturday. A bit of snow or sleet may mix in with rain showers early in places like Elk & Jefferson counties...however most of the changeover comes during the afternoon drive time into the evening hours.  Northern zones will see a transition occurring early and changing quickly to snow. Southeastern valley communities could see the rain turn over to freezing rain or sleet. Some sunshine will return for Saturday, but it will be breezy with highs in the low to mid 30s. Clouds will return for Sunday with snow showers changing over to a wintry mix before changing to rain at night. Temperatures will be colder for the first half of the next week, with highs in the 20s and low temperatures in the teens.
