Firefighter Hurt; Home Burns for Hours

A fire broke out late last night causing $250,00.
JAY TOWNSHIP, ELK COUNTY - What caused a fire at a home along River Road in Jay Township is still under investigation. The state police fire marshal says the blaze caused $250,000 in damage.

The fire started around 11:15 Wednesday night. It destroyed a garage and home. Multiple fire departments were called to the scene. A firefighter was injured while fighting the flames. He was taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Police say Dennis Celinski and Curtis Piszenski were home when the fire started. They were able to get out to safety.

The fire damaged cable and power lines in the area.  State Route 255 was closed while departments fought the flames.
