Fire Near Train Yard

Insulation catches fire on tank.
HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY - Firefighters battled flames near a train yard Thursday morning.

The fire happened at the Watco Mechanical Company just off Route 22 in Hollidaysburg around 9:30am.

Workers say the fire started when welding sparks landed near foam insulation on a tank.

According to the Phoenix Fire Chief, part of the foam insulation caught fire and caused it to burn quickly, resulting in lots of smoke but little damage.

There were no reported injuries.

We reached out to Watco to see if the company for comment, it has not yet responded.
