Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

A northwesterly flow of chilly air dominated our weather, and with plenty of clouds, temperatures today did not rise out of the 30s in many locations. There will be some clearing early tonight then later tonight there will be just some high clouds around. Temperatures tonight will drop well into the 20s with some of the colder rural valleys dropping into the teens. Wednesday will feature a mix of sunshine and high cloudiness. While it will not be quite as brisk, it will still be a bit chilly with highs in the lower to middle 40s. Thursday will becoming partly to mostly cloudy, and with the clouds, once again the mercury will fail to leave the 40s. Friday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s. An approaching front will bring showers, especially later in the day. Showers with this front will still be possible early Saturday then the rest of Saturday will be windy and colder with clouds, some sunshine and scattered showers. Those showers will change to snow showers Saturday night. The coldest air mass of the season by far will move into the region on Sunday with a gusty wind and numerous snow showers with highs in the 20s. Monday will still be chilly but clouds will break for some sunshine and there will only be some leftover flurries. A disturbance passing close to the region could bring rain and snow showers on Tuesday followed by a reinforcement of chilly air for the holiday.
