Scattered showers will move through this evening and through the overnight hours, mixing with some snowflakes early Sunday morning. It doesn’t look like clouds will break in time for the partial solar eclipse Sunday morning, but in case they do, as much as 70% of the sun will be obscured behind the moon the first 20-30 minutes after sunrise. You can find plans for a pinhole projector online to see the eclipse safely. Clouds will break as we go through Sunday, but temperatures will only peak in the low to mid 40s in the early afternoon. Temperatures will fall quickly in the evening, and some communities may be below freezing before the Steelers game ends. Monday will start cold with temperatures in the low to mid 20s, something we haven’t seen since April. We will be in a warming trend for the first half of the week, with highs in the 50s Monday and Tuesday; and reaching the 60s in some spots Wednesday before the next system arrives.
