Evening Forecast, Friday September 20th, 2013

Here is your Friday evening forecast.
Updated: Friday evening, September 20th
Reported by: Meteorologist Steve Newton

Temperatures were above seasonal today with a good deal of sunshine, but a change is on the way for the weekend. Clouds will fill in during the overnight hours ahead of a cold front and some communities could have showers or even a rumble of thunder by sunrise Saturday. The front will push through during the day, and the rain will get heavy at times with high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. With this amount of rain, I can’t rule out the chance of some areas of flooding, so be alert for roadways covered in water if you are driving. Cooler air will move in behind the front for Sunday, and a few communities may not reach 60°. A couple showers may be left behind, but the majority of the region will be dry for the first day of fall. Going into next week, temperatures won’t feel very fall-like, as we will see a warming trend with temperatures reaching the mid 70s by the end of the week.
