Damaged Senior Living Facility to be Demolished

A new senior-living facility will be built on the site.
CLEARFIELD, CLEARFIELD COUNTY – Demolition is set to begin on Colonial Courtyard more than three months after it was destroyed by a fire.

Sixty-one residents were displaced by the June 25th fire. Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield staff has maintained contact with former residents during this period.

The first phase of demolition will begin the afternoon of October 1st. It will consist of removing part of the building to confirm the integrity of the slab base before demolition can proceed. Once initial tests are complete, the demolition will proceed and a new Colonial Courtyard will be built on the site.

IntegraCare, who owns Colonial Courtyard, aims to have an information office open by early November so family members and previous residents can see architectural designs, room layouts, and other features of the new facility.

Former residents have expressed interest in returning to Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield once the new construction is complete.
