ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - The Curve honored the military as part of the Eastern League All Star Stop.

The Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team took on the Curve All Stars Josh Wege says getting back on a field has been a major part of his recovery. It gave him back the thrill of athletic competition. Both he and Leonard Anderson lost limbs in IED attacks. Now they travel the country with their uniforms, bats, and a message. Their motto is, “Life without Limb is Limitless.” 

Ronald Pawuk brought a group of veterans from the Van Zandt Medical Center to see them play. He said it was inspiriing to see these soldiers who lost limbs not give up.

The wounded warriors signed autographs and hugged local military families.

The Curve also unveiled a permanent empty chair right behind home plate in memory of Prisoners of War and soldiers still Missing In Action.

Rob Egan says the night was about showing the military community how important they are.
