Woman Charged With Kidnapping

Johnstown Police charged a woman taking her God child and not giving her back to her parents.

JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Johnstown Police charged a woman taking her God child and not giving her back to her parents.

32- year old Belinda Hancock allegedly took three year old Kayada Martin and moved her to Washington D.C. without her parent’s knowledge or consent.

Hancock typically watches the toddler and was babysitting over the holidays.  According to a criminal complaint the Johnstown woman was supposed to give her back to her parents on Christmas Day but never showed.

Police have spoken to Hancock on the phone, she refuses to cooperate with police and bring the child back.  Police filed the charges on January 17, 2014.

Neighbors on Wood Street in the city were shocked to learn that Hancock would do that.

‘How would she feel if someone took her child and wouldn’t give her back,” said Raymond Smith.  “Hope the parents get her back.”

“It’s a damn shame, real shame,” said Frank Trio.
