Woman arrested on wedding day for allegedly killing niece

Police say the fatal shooting was over an argument over who would drive home from a bar.
NEW BRIGHTON, BEAVER COUNTY – Police have charged a 30-year-old Conway woman with the shooting death of her 21-year-old niece hours after her wedding, because they were arguing over who would drive home from a bar.

According to police, Christina Nicole George-Harvan shot 21-year-old Katelyn Francis of Fairview, WV in the parking lot of Jimmy K’s Bar shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday. Francis died on the way to the hospital.

Police say Francis was at the bar with her aunt and her aunt’s new husband. Witnesses noticed the argument earlier that evening in the bar.

George-Harvan faces one count of homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment.
