Volunteer firefighter charged with arson

State Police say Nathaniel Mostoller was a volunteer with Glen Hope Fire Department when two suspicious fires broke out in December 2013
GLEN HOPE, CLEARFIELD COUNTY – A 24-year-old volunteer firefighter has been arrested, accused of starting two fires at the same location in December 2013.

According to State Police, Nathaniel Mostoller of Madera has been charged with arson and related offenses for his alleged role in the fires at 6369 Glen Hope Blvd. December 23, 2013.

The first fire occurred around 9:30 a.m., with the second at approximately 6 p.m. on the same date. The occupant was not home at the time of either fire. At the time, Mostoller was a volunteer firefighter with Glen Hope Fire Department.

State Police say the Glen Hope Fire Chief requested the initial investigation into the cause of the fires. Police say the fire department completely cooperated with their investigation.

Mostoller is in the Clearfield County Jail on $25,000 bail.
