Residents will now be able to fly to a major hub nonstop from Centre County.
STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY - For the first time in 10 years University Park airport has added a destination for those flying out of Centre County.

Beginning January 7th, passengers will be able to fly from University Park Airport to Chicago's O'Hare Airport nonstop.

The process took 3-5 years to complete, and the route will provide two United Airlines flights daily to and from Chicago. Round trip tickets cost around $350 and the planes on the route will have 50 seats.

The airport expects business travelers, international students and fans of Big Ten sporting events to be the biggest customers.
