Two Teens In Custody For Armed Robbery

Richland Township Police took a 16-year old and 19 year old into custody for allegedly robbing the Honey Bear Mini Mart.
RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Richland Township Police took 16-year old Darnell McLaughlin and 19 year old into custody for allegedly robbing the Honey Bear Mini Mart.
 
It happened around 8:30 Tuesday morning near the intersection of Elton and Luther Roads.
 
Police said the 16-year old suspect jumped the counter, pointed a gun at the clerk and a customer demanding their money.
 
The suspect fled on foot down Luther Road to a waiting get-a-way car driven by 19-year Zachary Wissinger.  Both were taken into custody just a few miles away.
 
“We are charging both as adults,” said Detective Kevin Gaudlip.  “They also both admitted to their involvement.”
 
Police said the alleged weapon was actually a pellet gun.  Store manager Georgette Knovak said she was just glad no one was seriously hurt.
 
‘It could have been a lot worse,” said Knovak.  “I’m just glad no one was hurt.”
 
The two were capture in about three hours.
