Updated Thursday Morning, July 24th
Reported by Meteorologist Regina Miller
Today the cold front that crossed the region late yesterday will still be close enough to allow for some lingering clouds early. Since the front will be sitting to our south, the most likely area to still see perhaps just a lingering early shower will be along or south of the Pennsylvania turnpike. Otherwise, we'll have a mixture of clouds and sun. It will still be humid early but the humidity will start to lower later in the day. Highs Thursday will range from near 70 to the low to mid 70s along the Route 219 corridor and northwestward. However farther to the east of Interstate 99 temps will be in the mid to upper 70s with a few locations even getting to near 80. Thursday night will be more comfortable with lows in the 50s. Grab the sunglasses and enjoy the late week as an area of high pressure will give us a good deal of sunshine Friday with highs in the 70s to near 80 and comfortable humidity. With the high sitting over the region, Friday night will be comfortable with lows in the 50s. Saturday will still be nice with sunshine mixing with clouds and though a pop up shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out for later in the day, many locations will likely stay dry until Saturday night. The next disturbance will bring more numerous showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. It will not cool much behind that disturbance as temperatures will reach near to above average Monday through Wednesday of next week with the chance for pop up afternoon thunderstorms. It will become much cooler for next week, especially by late July standards as temperatures on Tuesday will only range from the low to mid 70s with very low humidity for this time of year as well.
