Thursday Midday Forecast, July 24, 2014

Less humid today and tomorrow.
UPDATED THURSDAY MIDDAY, JULY 24TH
REPORTED BY METEOROLOGIST REGINA MILLER

IT IS COOLER TODAY AND CLOUDS WILL BREAK FOR SUNSHINE AT TIMES WITH NICE LOW HUMIDITY FOR THE AFTERNOON.  TONIGHT WILL BE MAINLY CLEAR AND COOLER WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING INTO THE UPPER 40s to LOW 50s. TOMORROW AN AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE SITTING RIGHT OVER CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA AND FOR THAT REASON IT WILL BE A RATHER CHILLY START TO THE DAY TOMORROW.  TEMPERATURES WILL BE UNSEASONABLY COOL DURING THE MORNING AS CLEAR SKIES AND CALM WINDS WILL ALLOW THE COOLEST AIR TO SETTLE AT GROUND LEVEL.  NORMALLY CLOUDS WOULD ACT AS A BLANKET KEEPING SOME OF THE DAYTIME HEATING FROM THE PREVIOUS DAY TRAPPED UNDERNEATH.  BUT THAT WILL NOT BE THE CASE.  PLENTY OF SUNSHINE WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO CLIMB DURING THE AFTERNOON INTO THE UPPER 70s TO NEAR 80.  HUMIDITY WILL BE COMFORTABLY LOW.  BE SURE TO GRAB THE SUNGLASSES AND SUNBLOCK IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE OUTSIDE FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME.   FRIDAY NIGHT WILL BE COOL AS WELL WITH NICE SLEEPING WEATHER.  LOWS WILL BE IN THE 50s.  SKIES WILL BE MOSTLY CLEAR.  SATURDAY WILL FEATURE A MIX OF CLOUDS AND SUNSHINE.  HIGHS WILL START TO CREEP INTO THE LOW TO MID 80s.   A WARM FRONT WILL SLIDE EAST OUT OF THE OHIO VALLEY LATE SATURDAY, AND THAT COULD SPARK A STRAY SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM LATER IN THE DAY, BUT MANY LOCATIONS WILL REMAIN DRY DURING THE DAYLIGHT HOURS WITH A BETTER CHANCE FOR A SHOWER OR STORM BY EVENING OR OVERNIGHT.  THE WARM FRONT WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A WAVY...SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT FOR SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA AND THE ALLEGHENY PLATEAU SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT.
