"The Crucible" to Take Stage at Mishler

This Arthur Miller classic play takes audiences back to the days of the Salem witch trials. On today's show, some of the cast members perform.

"The Crucible" takes the stage at the Mishler Theatre in Altoona this week. On today's show, we get a preview from some cast members and Director Michael Manfred. WTAJ Meteorologist Joe Murgo is also a member of the cast.

About the show (from the Mishler website): "In 1692, a minister in Salem, Massachusettes, found his daughter dancing with her friends in the woods. When she faints and falls into a coma, rumors of witchcraft flourish, fueled by the minister’s niece who is later revealed to be having an affair with a married farmer. Accusations of contact with the devil suddenly are being hurled at many of Salem’s citizens and some are wrongly executed.
Arthur Miller based his play on true historical incidents but actually wrote “The Crucible” in 1953 as an allegory on McCarthyism. It remains today a powerful sermon on the peril of public manipulation and mass hysteria."
