Task Force Releases DUI Statistics

Police say they're making the most of their state funding.

CENTRE COUNTY - Police in Centre County said they're making the most of task force money.

They released a report Monday with figures from special details over the past 12 months.

The numbers show police made 68 arrests for DUI, including driving high on drugs. Police said they also issued 242 traffic tickets, 45 non-traffic citations, cited 29 minors, and gave 809 warnings.

The statistics do not include arrests and tickets from routine patrols.

Centre County Alcohol Task Force coordinators said they will focus more on drug-related DUI arrests this year.

The efforts are made possible by a state grant, which was just renewed for 2013-2014.

The task force includes officers from Ferguson Twp., Patton Twp., Spring Twp, PSU Police, Centre County Sheriff's Office as well as State College and Bellefonte Borough Police Departments.
