Subaru recalls more than 600K vehicles

The auto maker said brake lines could perforate after multiple winter driving seasons.
TOKYO – Auto maker Subaru announced Thursday the recall of 660,000 vehicles due to the risk of corrosion on brake lines.

The recall covers vehicles that are currently, or have ever been registered, in states where salt is used to melt ice and snow in the winter months.

Subaru said brake lines in some vehicles run the risk of corrosion and may affect the driver’s ability to stop.

Models affect by the recall are:
  • 2005-09 Legacys and Outbacks
  • 2008-11 Imprezas
  • 2008-14 Impreza WRX/STIs
  • 2009-13 Foresters
Subaru said brake lines could perforate after exposure to seven or more driving seasons.
