Starbucks to serve alcohol at more locations

The company has slowly been adding beer and wine to its menus for several years.
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON – Starbucks is planning to add alcoholic beverages to the menus of thousands of locations in the next several years, according to a company spokeswoman.

The Seattle-based company began offering beer and wine at a single store in 2010, and has slowly expanded to 26 stores. They plan to have 40 locations offering alcohol by the end of 2014.

Starbucks hopes the addition of beer and wine will boost night-time sales when their business typically slows. There are no plans to expand beyond beer and wine, nor are there plans to expand the sale of alcohol to stores outside of the United States.
