Snow Emergencies in Multiple Communities

Communities are asking drivers move their cars from streets so they can be cleared.
ACROSS THE REGION – Multiple communities have declared snow emergencies, asking residents to remove their vehicles from roadways so crews can clear.

State College Borough residents are encouraged to use the downtown parking garages which will remain open. Cars parked in posted ‘Snow Removal’ zones or cars parked in violation of any ordinance in the borough may be towed at the owner’s expense.

College Township in Centre County declared a snow emergency at 5:30 Wednesday. Parking on streets will not be permitted until after the storm has ended and all streets have been cleared of snow and ice to the edge of pavement or curbs. College Township residents may be fined for shoveling, blowing, or plowing snow onto township streets.

In Clearfield, Mayor Schell is asking residents remove vehicles from roadways and asking people shovel a three foot perimeter around all fire hydrants and clear sidewalks.

Sandy Township is not releasing any special instructions, but suggesting everyone use common sense regarding this storm.
