Sled Hockey Tournament Doubles In Size

Tournament helping disabled kids find confidence.
JOHNSTOWN - For the second straight year sled hockey teams from throughout the region met in Johnstown.
The 2nd annual Columbus Day Sled Hockey Challenge doubled in size this year with six teams taking the ice. The Sitting Bulls Sled Hockey team in Johnstown was started four years ago to provide kids with disabilities a chance to compete and show off their skills. Sitting Bulls President Russell White says as much as the tournament is about the physical competition....it does even more for the kids emotionally.
"They open up a lot. When they've got a sport that they can play, like my son was in a shell and four years ago when we started playing it changed him. Now he's the most outgoing person on the team and it really brings them out of their shell," President Russell White says.
