Search for missing teen suspended

Officials will halt their search at 8 p.m. Tuesday and resume when weather conditions improve.
KARTHAUS, CLEARFIELD COUNTY – The search for a teen missing in the Susquehanna River is being suspended due to pending weather conditions.

Crews will halt their search for the missing 19-year-old at 8 p.m. Tuesday as rain returns to the region and water is released from Curwensville Lake. The search will resume when conditions improve and resources are replenished.

Portions of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River previously restricted will reopen to public access.

The public is asked to report any unusual sightings along the river from the Rolling Stone Bridge and all points down river to Clearfield County Control at 814-765-1533, or to Centre County Communications at 1-800-479-0050.

Crews have been searching for a teen from eastern Pennsylvania since Saturday afternoon when his canoe overturned.
