Same-Sex Marriage Court Hearing in PA

Pennsylvania official's controversial marriage license move in the spotlight.
HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY - A Pennsylvania official's decision to hand out marriage licenses to same-sex couples will be in the spotlight during a court hearing Wednesday.

The Register of Wills in Montgomery County started a political firestorm recently after he decided to hand out marriage licenses to same-sex couples, in violation of Pennsylvania marriage law.

One of those licenses went to a same-sex couple that was married in State College in mid-August.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett's administration filed a lawsuit to stop the Montgomery County official from handing out the licenses.

The hearing is slated to begin shortly after 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
