Rural Road Dangers

Drivers are reminded to be aware of farm equipment as farmers head back out on the roads to tend to their fields.
JEFFERSON COUNTY - As farmers begin to tend to their fields, drivers are reminded to watch out for their equipment especially when it comes to traveling on rural roads.

In 2012, Penndot says 88 crashes and two deaths involved farm equipment. These crashes could be avoided. They ask drivers to slow down, use caution and if you see the orange triangle be patient. They say having to go 20 mph for 2 miles will only cost you six minutes and that is like sitting at two stop lights.
