(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Clippers have filled a need for depth in the post through free agency, reportedly agreeing to terms with center Spencer Hawes on a four-year contract.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Hawes can earn up to $23 million in the deal, which also contains a player option.
The seven-year veteran established career-best averages of 13.2 points and 8.3 rebounds over 80 games last season. Hawes began the campaign with the Philadelphia 76ers before being traded to Cleveland in February.
A strong outside shooter, Hawes made good on 44.8 percent of his 3-point attempts in 27 games with the Cavaliers.
Hawes, who has averaged 9.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists over 500 career games, provides the Clippers with an experienced big man to rotate with center DeAndre Jordan and All-Star forward Blake Griffin.
