Pushing The CHIP Program

PA trying to raise awareness for the program.
JOHNSTOWN - With all the confusion nationally over signing up for the Affordable Care Act, Pennsylvania is making a push to raise awareness about it's Children's Health Insurance Program.

People had a chance to learn more about the program Tuesday evening in Johnstown. 188,000 children statewide are currently enrolled in the program including more than 2,000 in Cambria County. The program is meant to make sure children are insured, one way or another, and they say no matter what happens nationally, it's not going anywhere.

"Every child, every uninsured child needs to have health care coverage. Whether it's thru medical assistance, the federal exchange, or CHIP...by whatever means we want to make sure that all children are covered," C.H.I.P. Program Executive Director Franca D’Agostino says.
