Police investigating suspected Meth Lab

State Police and members of the Attorney General's office searched an Altoona home Wednesday morning.
ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY – Officers with Pennsylvania State Police and the Attorney General’s office searched a home along the 100 block of North 5th Avenue Wednesday morning for a reported Meth Lab.

Altoona Police and Fire Department has been on the scene since around 6 a.m. Wednesday, and 11 hours later they are still combing over what they found in the home.

The Clandestine Laboratory Response Team combed through a house for more than 3 hours Wednesday, and the garage area behind the house.

This was reported as a meth lab and CLRT members were seen bringing a number of items out of the house in bags and laying them out on a table.

Neighbors in the area say they're fortunate it wasn't worse.

“I feel sorry for the people that live next door,” said John Ardrey, who lives in the neighborhood. “Something like this it could have been a catastrophe. It could have exploded could have killed a bunch of people down there.”

The Attorney General’s office is handling the investigation and officials have not yet said what exactly they found of if any arrests were made.

This is a developing story. We will provide more updates as they become available.
