Police investigating Hobby Town USA theft

Police say one suspect distracted a clerk while another stole a remote control helicopter.

STATE COLLEGE – Police in State College are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects in an April theft of several hundred dollars in merchandise from a Hobby Town USA store.

According to video footage obtained by State College Police, two men entered the store along Benner Pike at separate times between 7:10 and 7:15 p.m. on April 16th.

One suspect distracted the clerk while the other stole a RTF helicopter in a large box and fled the store. The helicopter is valued at $470.

The suspect who distracted the clerk is described as a heavy set white male over 6’ tall, close shaved hair, possibly gray, with a goatee. At the time he was wearing a black jacket and tan pants.

The suspect who fled the store with the helicopter is described as a white male, thin build and average height. At the time of the theft he was wearing a two-tone ball cap, white sunglasses, a dark-colored Penn State hooded sweatshirt with Penn State emblem on the left chest and left arm sleeve, and baggy light-colored jeans. He was last seen running toward the Wal-Mart.
