Pirates Go Through First Full-Squad Work-Out Tuesday

Hurdle tabs Liriano as Pirates Opening Day starter.
BRADENTON, FLORDIA - It was the first full-squad workout for the 2014 Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.  The only Pirate not in the house was former Curve infielder Josh Harrison, whose wife just gave birth to a daughter.  Harrison is expected to report to Pirates City in the next couple days.

The big news of the day was that manager Clint Hurdle announced that veteran left-hander Francisco Liriano will be the Pirates Opening Day starter (March 31st vs. the Cubs).

Liriano went 16-8 with a 3.02 ERA in 2013.
