Penn State Student Injured in Balcony Fall

The 19-year-old was hospitalized with trauma injuries.
STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY – A 19-year-old Penn State student was hospitalized early Friday morning after falling from his second-floor balcony.

According to State College Police, Andrew Shearer fell approximately 16 feet from a balcony at the Palmerton Apartments shortly before 1 a.m. Friday. He was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center and later to Geisinger Medical Center for trauma injuries.

Police suspect alcohol to be a factor in the fall. Two suspects have been identified in Furnishing Alcohol to Shearer. Charges will be filed once the investigation is complete.
