Penn State student hit by truck in State College

Police say the woman was flown to a nearby trauma center.
STATE COLLEGE – A Penn State student is listed in critical condition at UPMC Altoona after being hit by a pick up truck Thursday morning near the University Park campus.

The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Atherton Street and Park Avenue, near the Nittany Lion Inn.

State College Police say 18-year-old Eva O'Brian was jogging and ran into the path of Zachariah Spicer's red Ford F-250.

O'brian was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center before being flown to another UPMC Altoona.

Police say no charges will be pressed against Spicer.

The Penn State Office of Student Affairs has been contacted and will be providing assistance to her family.

Traffic was diverted around the accident scene for a time.
