Penn State Receives Nuclear Threat Inspection Grant

MIT and Georgia Tech are also participating in the program.
UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY – Penn State will receive a $5 million grant for research on Nuclear Threat Inspection.

The National Science Foundation and Department of Homeland Security awarded the grant to the school.

The program is designed to develop new systems and sensors that will detect nuclear weapons as well as other materials and threats.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Georgia Tech are among the other school participating in the program.
