Penguins: Crosby will not have surgery

Pens' GM Jim Rutherford released an update on Sidney Crosby's condition Tuesday morning.
PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Tuesday Sidney Crosby will not have surgery on his wrist to repair an injury.

The Penguins made the following announcement on their website late Tuesday morning: “After seeking additional medical advice, doctors have decided not to perform surgery on Sidney Crosby’s wrist. Sid will continue treatments and be evaluated regularly while he prepares for training camp in September.”

Reports in early July indicated Crosby would have surgery after therapy failed to fix the problem.
