Parole violation search yields bricks of heroin

ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY – Police have arrested one woman after a home inspection by state parole officials located more than 1,000 bags of heroin.

According to Altoona Police, the State Bureau of Parole and Probation requested their presence as part of their investigation into a parole violation by Leann Gray.

Parole and Probation agents searched a 2nd floor home along the 2700 block of West Chestnut Avenue and located 30 bricks of heroin, or 1,500 bags. The scene was turned over to Altoona Police who secured and served a warrant on the residence. The search revealed a total of 1,540 bags of heroin values at approximately $40,000 and $3,000 in cash. Ammunition for a weapon was found, but no weapon was located.

Gray was arrested and will be charged with penalties relating to her probation, Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin and Possession of Heroin. Gray is in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
