Officials meet about charter schools

A report of findings will be issued after all the meetings are complete.
EBENSBURG, CAMBRIA COUNTY – State and education officials gathered Thursday evening for the third of five meetings across the state to discuss charter schools.

Leaders from traditional schools and charter schools told Pennsylvania’s Auditor General what they think can be done to improve relationships, communication and accountability.

“Public schools in Pennsylvania are the responsibility of the entire state,” said Auditor General Eugene DePasquale. “I think it’s important that we give everyone the opportunity to weigh in.”

After the fourth and fifth meetings officials will put together a report and release their findings.
