No Hair, No Problem for Shazier

Steelers top pick proud of condition that makes him bald.
PITTSBURGH - The crown jewel of the Steelers’ draft class is first round pick Ryan Shazier.

Pittsburgh took the All-American outside linebacker from Ohio State with the 15th overall pick.

And if you've noticed anything about Shazier it's probably one of two things.

His speed: Shazier ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at the combine.

Or the fact that he has zero hair: the bald look is caused by alopecia; a condition Shazier's had since he was five.

“It was kind of tough because kids are mean,” Shazier says. “Kids will pick on you and say things that will hurt your feelings. But I just embraced it. I feel like if you didn't like me for who I am, then it's a problem with you. And I feel like it's my signature now, I love having alopecia."

Shazier jokes that having no hair has saved him a ton of money over the years - no need to get it cut or pay to buy shampoo.
