Nine Family Members Dead in Kentucky Fire

An adult and child were able to escape the fire, and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
GREENVILLE, KENTUCKY – Officials said nine people, eight of them children, were killed in an early morning house fire in Central Kentucky.

According to our sister station WTVW, the fire was reported around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities say 11 people were inside the home at the time. The children’s father and one child were able to escape the house. Both were flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for burns and smoke inhalation.

The Muhlenberg County Coroner said the couple’s children ranged from ages 4 to 15.
