New Bedford WWII Monument

About a dozen WWII vets showed up to place their fingerprint on a new WWII monument for Bedford County.
Thursday night,  a rare gathering of about a dozen World War II veterans from our region.
World War II vets from Bedford County were invited to put their fingerprint on a new sculpture that's set to be placed in Veterans Plaza in the spring. The sculptor, Wayne Hyde from Bedford, has other memorials like this around the country. A group called "The League of Pretty Good Guys" started the effort 3 years ago.
They've raised about $100,000 for the sculpture so far and are looking to raise about $90,000 more. Log on to www.ww2monument.com for more information. We'll have more with the sculptor later this month.
