Munchak A Huge Off-Season Acquisition

Munchak A Huge Off-Season Acquisition

Steelers O-Line coach is a big boost

He's perhaps the biggest off-season pick-up for the Steelers, but will see absolutely zero playing time on the field.

New offensive line coach Mike Munchak has his unit feeling poised to re-assert the push up front.

The Penn State alum and pro football hall of famer is known as an extremely detail-oriented in the trenches guru.

Munchak is working with plenty of talent too.

Center Maurkice Pouncey says this line has the potential to be one of the best he's played on.

The Steelers have five returning starters on the offensive front.

“I was talking to Pounce and Ramon and I said, 'Man, we got a great coach.' And it's just some of the things we do - the way he treats us, the way he takes care of us during our individual period. But at the same time works us to get us where we need to be and get us ready for the day in for practice. We have a great one. And he's teaching us everything we need to know and some of the things he used to do. And some of the stories that he tells us are pretty hilarious. But at the same time helping us to grow,” says Kelvin Beachum.

There's almost no where to go but up statistically.

The Steelers ranked 27th in the league in rushing in 2013 with just 86.4 yards per game on the ground.
